Senior Tax Manager | Derby | Hybrid Working | £70,000 - £80,000
A successful UK-based organisation is seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to take a lead role in managing its tax compliance, reporting, and advisory activities. This is a newly created position within a growing finance team and offers the opportunity to influence how tax is managed across the business.
You'll act as the internal expert on tax matters - overseeing VAT and corporation tax compliance, supporting forecasting efforts, and coordinating external advisers when needed. You'll also be involved in managing R&D tax credit claims and ensuring tax is embedded into broader business planning.
Key Focus Areas
- Oversight of UK tax compliance and reporting (VAT, corporation tax, etc.)
- Providing internal tax guidance and managing adviser relationships
- Supporting tax forecasting and accounting in partnership with finance teams
- Coordinating R&D tax credit claims and related internal processes
- Maintaining strong controls, documentation, and audit readiness
About You
- ACA / ACCA / CTA qualified
- Solid knowledge of UK tax (particularly VAT and corporate)
- Able to manage external tax advisers and internal stakeholders
- Experience with deferred tax or R&D claims is a plus
- Clear communicator with strong organisational skills
