Accounts Assistant
Location: Derby
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00am-5:30pm, 1-hour lunch)

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a well-established and growing Derby-based business to recruit an experienced and detail-focused Accounts Assistant. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone with finance or property administration experience who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive, friendly, and collaborative finance team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process daily banking transactions and perform accurate bank reconciliations.

  • Prepare and issue tenant invoices, ensuring timely and accurate cash allocation.

  • Input supplier invoices into the accounting system and process BACS payments.

  • Liaise professionally with clients, tenants, and suppliers, responding to queries efficiently.

  • Manage shared finance inboxes and maintain well-organised financial records and correspondence.

  • Assist with service charge reconciliations and preparation of client statements.

  • Support VAT reporting, client fund remittances, and deposit interest applications.

  • Effectively prioritise workload to meet deadlines while working collaboratively with internal teams.

About You

  • Previous experience in property administration and finance role.

  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/finance systems (property management software experience is an advantage).

  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Highly organised, self-motivated, and capable of working independently and as part of a team.

  • Proactive, professional, and client-focused approach.
