Job Description
I'm currently working with a well-established and growing organisation based in Milton Keynes to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This is a key leadership role, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the finance function and play a central role in supporting strategic decision-making.
Reporting directly to the FD, the Financial Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and compliance. You will manage and develop the finance team while partnering closely with stakeholders across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Full ownership of monthly management accounts, budgeting and forecasting
- Oversight of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditors
- Cash flow management and working capital control
- Development and maintenance of financial controls, policies and procedures
- Providing commercial insight and financial analysis to support business decisions
- Leading, mentoring and developing a small finance team
- Supporting process improvement and systems development initiatives
To be considered for this role, you will be:
- Fully qualified (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a Financial Controller or senior finance role
- Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail
- Confident managing and developing a finance team
- Commercially minded, with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Proactive, hands-on, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
