Macildowie are proud to be working with a well-recognised business based in Enderby, Leicester, on the recruitment of an Accounts Payable Assistant.
About the role:
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a dynamic finance team environment with a strong focus on operational support and process efficiency. As an Accounts Payable Assistant, you will play a vital role in maintaining financial controls across stock and banking operations while supporting key business activities such as stocktakes, store openings and end-of-season events.
Your day-to-day work will involve responding to internal customer queries, managing data, and helping streamline financial processes across multiple departments. You'll also support the coordination of cash movement across the retail estate and work with internal and external stakeholders to enhance service and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
Responding to internal finance queries and escalating to other departments where necessary
Coordinating stock and banking operations, ensuring compliance with financial processes
Supporting seasonal activities like store openings, stocktakes and sale events
Handling and reporting MI data across a range of finance systems
Delivering ad hoc reporting to internal teams
Contributing to improvements in cash management and minimising in-store holdings
Assisting wider finance operations team during peak times or absence cover
What you'll need to succeed:
Essential:
Strong working knowledge of Excel (or Google Sheets)
Excellent organisational skills and the ability to multitask
A proactive approach to solving problems and explaining solutions clearly
Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Self-motivated with a team-first mindset
Willingness to learn new tools and systems
