Location: Oakham
Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

Macildowie are working with this client based in Oakham on an exciting opportunity to join a well-established organisation within the retail and horticulture sector. This business is seeking a dedicated Payroll & HR Administrator to take full ownership of payroll processing and HR administrative duties, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and an excellent internal service.
You will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll of over 350 employees using Employment Hero, as well as managing the day-to-day HR administration including onboarding, new starters, inductions, and contractual documentation. This role offers real autonomy and the opportunity to become a trusted point of contact across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 350 employees (mix of salaried and time & attendance-based staff)
Oversee all HR admin functions: letters, onboarding, inductions, system updates
Maintain and update the Employment Hero system, ensuring high levels of data accuracy
Act as a first point of contact for payroll and HR queries from managers and employees
Support and train line managers on HR system processes and best practice
Ideal Candidate Profile:
Strong experience in payroll processing, ideally in a standalone or lead role
Knowledge of Employment Hero would be a distinct advantage
Confident in HR administration and employment lifecycle procedures
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines
Friendly, approachable, and customer-focused in supporting internal teams
