Macildowie are working with a growing, multi-division organisation based in Syston, Leicestershire, to recruit a key senior finance professional into their team.
Head of Collections / Head of Credit Control
Up to £65,000 per annum | Permanent | Hybrid (3 days in office post‑probation)
This national business operates across multiple service lines with a focus on delivering high‑quality, regulated services. As part of their ongoing transformation, they are seeking a Head of Collections / Head of Credit Control to take ownership of the Credit Control, Accounts Receivable and Allocations functions, following a period of organisational and operational change.
The Role
You'll oversee a team of 5, embedding best practice across governance, collections, cash allocation and reporting. With billing activity now owned by divisional teams, this role will ensure accuracy and accountability across all receivables processes. You'll work closely with finance leaders and key stakeholders to establish consistency and continuous improvement across the function.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and develop the Credit Control and AR team
Deliver timely, accurate cash allocation and receivables management
Introduce and maintain robust governance and controls
Collaborate with divisional teams to resolve billing discrepancies and maintain financial accuracy
Track and report performance metrics, aged debt and KPIs
Champion process improvement across the function
About You
Proven experience in Credit Control and Accounts Receivable leadership roles
Background in managing complex billing, allocations and process ownership
Comfortable operating in a multi-entity or multi-service environment
Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
Qualified Credit Manager or hold a relevant accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CICM) preferred
Analytical mindset with a passion for continuous improvement
