Job Description
We are currently working with a well-established and growing manufacturing business that is looking to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to lead its finance function based in Milton Keynes. This is a key hire for the business and offers genuine influence at senior management level.
The Opportunity
This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to operations. You'll work closely with the senior leadership and production teams, providing robust financial insight to support decision-making, improve margins, and drive performance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of the finance function, including leadership of a small finance team
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, budgets, and forecasts
- Oversight of manufacturing cost accounting, stock, and margin analysis
- Business partnering with operations to drive cost control and efficiency improvements
- Cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and banking relationships
- Responsibility for statutory reporting, audit, tax, and compliance
- Development and improvement of financial controls, systems, and processes
- Support strategic projects, capital investment cases, and growth initiatives
Candidate Experience
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong background in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Proven experience at Financial Controller or Senior Finance Manager level
- Excellent understanding of product costing and operational finance
- Commercial, hands-on, and confident working with non-finance stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels
