Job Description

About the Role:

I am looking for an experienced and detail-oriented Management Accountant with a focus on Revenue analysis to join this skilled Finance team. This is a key role where you will provide accounting support and contribute to the accurate and timely preparation of management accounts and financial statements. You will be expected to ensure that revenue is accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported, and to offer valuable insights into the business's financial performance.

As a Revenue Accountant, your primary responsibility will be overseeing revenue recognition, preparing monthly P&Ls, and delivering variance analysis. You'll work closely with various teams to improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly P&Ls, ensuring that revenue is recognised correctly and in line with accounting standards.
  • Reconcile and record revenue from different income streams.
  • Provide detailed variance analysis against budget and highlight key drivers impacting revenue performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather operational data and ensure accurate reporting in line with financial standards.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure accurate recording of all transactions.
  • Work alongside other finance team members to ensure timely and accurate preparation of management information and financial reporting.
  • Offer recommendations for improving internal processes and enhancing the quality of financial data (eg. Help reduce month-end close via automation).
  • Support other ad-hoc financial tasks as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Strong experience in revenue accounting or financial reporting, with a focus on P&L preparation and variance analysis.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to present financial data to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional environment and collaborating with operational teams.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software such as Sage or similar.
  • Ability to manage a diverse workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Why Join This Business:

  • Supportive Environment: Work with a collaborative finance team.
  • Professional Growth: Opportunity to gain experience in a dynamic sector.
  • Impactful Role: Play a key part in driving the financial performance of the business.
