We have an exciting interim opportunity for a Payroll Officer to join a leading manufacturing business for an initial 12‑month fixed‑term contract. This role is ideal for someone who loves accuracy, thrives on organisation and enjoys supporting people through reliable and compliant payroll delivery. There is a potential for this to become a permanent position to for the right candidate.
Role: Payroll Officer
Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
Salary: Up to £40,000 (pro‑rata for FTC)
Employment Type: 12‑Month Fixed Term Contract (Full‑Time, Mon‑Fri, 40 hours)
Working Arrangement: Office‑based
The Opportunity
Working closely with the Group Payroll Manager, you'll ensure colleagues across the Group are paid accurately and on time. You'll help maintain clean, reliable payroll and HR data, support weekly and monthly payroll processes, and uphold compliance with payroll legislation and internal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Run weekly and monthly payrolls, including overtime and pay changes
* Process statutory calculations and maintain accurate records
* Assist with pension reporting and benefit submissions
* Provide support with audits and payroll queries
* Prepare data for annual reviews and P11Ds
* Work collaboratively with HR and Finance functions
About You:
- Excellent numeracy with strong attention to detail
* Confident user of Microsoft Excel and Word
* Organised, reliable, and deadline‑driven
* Warm communicator with a professional approach
* Payroll experience and familiarity with payroll/HR systems desirable
