Interim HR Change Professional - Derbyshire

Location: Derbyshire (Hybrid - 2-3 days per week on site)
Day Rate: £400 - £500 per day (outside IR35)
Contract: Interim | 6-9 months | Full-time or Part-time

Macildowie is partnering with a leading private sector business in Derbyshire to recruit an Interim HR Change Professional.

This is a high-impact, hands-on interim role for an experienced HR professional with a proven track record of delivering complex change programmes. The role offers flexibility and can be structured as full-time or part-time, depending on availability and business requirements. You will work closely with business leaders to drive organisational transformation, shape culture, and ensure that people-focused solutions are at the heart of change.

Role Overview

The Interim HR Change Professional will lead the design and delivery of complex, multi-layered change initiatives, ensuring alignment between business strategy, workforce planning, and people outcomes. You will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, combining strategic insight with practical delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage complex change programmes including organisational restructures, TUPE, workforce redesign, and transformation initiatives.
  • Partner with senior leaders to embed cultural and behavioural change that supports business goals.
  • Develop and implement change management strategies, stakeholder engagement plans, and communications tailored to each programme.
  • Provide expert, pragmatic HR advice on employment law, employee relations, and risk management during periods of change.
  • Coach, mentor, and support managers to navigate transitions effectively.
  • Collaborate with HR Centres of Excellence (Talent, Reward, L&D, OD) to ensure change initiatives are integrated across the business.
  • Monitor progress, measure impact, and report programme outcomes to senior stakeholders.

Candidate Profile

We are seeking a highly adaptable, commercially aware HR professional who thrives in fast-moving environments and can manage multiple, interrelated change initiatives.

Essential Experience and Skills:

  • Significant experience leading complex change programmes within the private sector.
  • Proven track record in organisational transformation, restructures, or workforce redesign.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Ability to combine strategic thinking with practical, results-focused delivery.
  • Availability for an immediate or short-notice start.
