Macildowie are proud to be working with a well-established and growing construction business based in Northamptonshire, to recruit a Sales Estimator on a full-time, permanent basis.
This is a pivotal role within a close-knit team, offering the chance to combine Sales and Commercial responsibilities with hands-on project management and estimation. The Role
As Sales Estimator, you will take ownership of projects from initial enquiry through to delivery, ensuring accurate pricing, smooth coordination, and successful completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce detailed cost estimates and competitive tenders for construction projects.
- Review drawings, specifications and client briefs to develop accurate proposals and schedules of works.
- Manage projects post-sale, acting as the main point of contact for clients, suppliers and contractors.
- Plan, schedule and monitor progress to ensure projects are delivered on time, to budget and to specification.
- Conduct site visits, risk assessments and progress meetings, resolving issues proactively.
- Maintain accurate documentation and project records, updating internal systems and reporting on performance.
About You
- Background in sales and estimation and/or project management within the construction industry.
- Strong technical understanding of construction methods, materials and regulations.
- Commercially minded with excellent numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communicator, able to build relationships and work collaboratively across teams.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and (ideally) construction estimating/project management software.
- Sales processing experience from ideation to execution
- Familiarity with CAD design
