Job Description
Macildowie are working exclusively with a client based in Wellingborough to recruit a Junior Accounts Receivable Assistant to join their Finance and Commercial team.
- Salary: £26,000 ‒ £29,000 per annum
- Working Arrangement: Office-based, 5 days per week (9am-5pm, with some flexibility; part-time considered)
- Contract Type: Permanent

The Role
The Junior Accounts Receivable Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, with exposure to credit control and accounts receivable processes. This role is ideal for a junior candidate with 6-12 months of office experience who is looking to develop their finance career in a supportive environment.
You will be responsible for:
- Processing cash receipts, invoices, and other financial documents
- Managing the sales ledger, including debtor communications and chasing overdue payments
- Reconciling accounts, monitoring transactions, and resolving discrepancies
- Supporting month-end account management and reporting on outstanding balances
- Assisting with retention payment schedules and liaison with internal teams and surveyors
- Learning and developing alongside a highly experienced Finance Director
Skills & Experience Required
We are keen to speak to candidates who:
- Have 6-12 months' office experience within credit control, accounts receivable, or administration
- Possess strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Have a proactive approach and "can-do" attitude, with confidence to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
- Are comfortable using Excel and ideally have experience with accounting systems (Sage200 advantageous)
- Are motivated to grow and develop within a finance team
