Job title: Accounts Assistant
Location: Milton Keynes (Office Based)
Salary: £26,000 - £30,000 per annum (Dependent on Experience) + Company Bonus
Hours: 35 hours per week - Monday 9-5, Tuesday to Friday 8-4 (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Type: Permanent | Full-time

Our client is a long-established and well-respected global manufacturer and distributor with a strong presence across the UK and Europe. Supplying leading retailers and well-known brands, they are currently entering an exciting phase of growth, including the rollout of a new IT system and the integration of a recently acquired European business.

The Role
Reporting directly to the Finance Manager, you'll assist with maintaining the smooth operation and control of accounting processes and financial data in line with company standards and accounting best practice.
This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same - ideal for someone with strong attention to detail who enjoys working across all areas of transactional finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day-to-day management of ledgers (AP & AR) and maintenance of the nominal ledger
- Month-end reporting, control accounts, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Analysing employee expenses and reconciling monthly credit card statements
- Supporting with credit control and debt management
- Checking and onboarding new customers/suppliers, maintaining account details
- Assisting with order releases and resolving customer queries or stock returns
- Uploading and maintaining payments and receipts
About You
To succeed in this role, you'll need to be a team player with strong Excel skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.
Essential:
- Previous experience within an accounts or finance support role
- Working knowledge of purchase and sales ledger
- Strong numerical and organisational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
Desirable:
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems
- Working towards or interested in pursuing AAT qualification
