About the Role:
As an Accounts Manager, you'll spend your first year leading the Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) teams, managing the day-to-day operations, and ensuring the smooth reconciliation of ledgers. You'll have the chance to oversee a small team and drive process improvements in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
In the second year, you'll transition into a systems project role, leading the migration to a new accounting software. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with both team leadership and systems experience to make a significant impact on the business's operational efficiency and future systems setup.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team, including 1x AP Assistant (4 days per week) and 1x AR Assistant.
- Oversee the AP and AR ledgers, ensuring accurate and timely reconciliations.
- Manage supplier invoicing and payment processes, ensuring compliance with terms.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders in the finance team and other departments to improve systems and resolve issues.
- Lead the systems migration project in the second year
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in AP & AR, with team leadership experience (AP, AR, or Credit Control team lead or senior).
- Strong systems experience - experience with accounting software systems and the ability to lead a system migration project.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work autonomously, lead change, and drive improvements.
- Proactive, hands-on approach with a focus on balancing peak periods and streamlining processes.
