Job Description

Interim Finance Analyst c4-6mnths

Are you an experienced finance professional with advanced Excel skills and a proactive approach? Do you have experience of cost management, project costing or Capex? We are recruiting for an interim Finance Analyst for 4-6 months. This is an excellent opportunity to support the management of costs and forecast capital expenditure in a dynamic environment.

About the Role
This is an exciting and varied role within a commercial team, offering exposure to senior finance management and key operational areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Branch Costs: Assist in monitoring and managing expenditure related to repairs and maintenance across a growing network or premises
  • Capex Forecasting: Serve as the central point of contact for tracking actual spend vs. forecast for capital expenditure, collaborating with different teams to update senior management
  • Monthly Forecasting & Budgeting: Work alongside cost centre managers to put together potential forecast changes and provide key insights for future budgets.
  • Balance Sheet Completion: Take responsibility for monthly balance sheet reconciliations, including drafting the first pass at commentary for senior review.
  • Ad-hoc Queries: Respond to ad-hoc queries from stakeholders and provide necessary financial insights when required.

Key Skills & Attributes

  • Excel Proficiency: Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, complex formulas, etc.) are essential.
  • Accounting experience is essential
  • Capex & Cost Management: Ideally, you'll have experience in capital expenditure or capturing costs across multiple projects.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Ability to proactively liaise with a range of internal stakeholders and address queries effectively.
  • Self-Starter: You will be expected to take initiative to find solutions and work well within a small team
  • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is a must.
  • Availability to start ASAP

Additional Information:

  • Duration: Interim (4-6 months)
  • Location: Hybrid once intial handover completed (3days office/2 days wfh)
