Senior Accounts Assistant
Location: Syston (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £15.00 - £17.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract: Temporary - 3 Months
Systems: Sage experience desirable
Macildowie are supporting a well-established organisation in Syston to recruit a Senior Accounts Assistant for an initial three-month temporary assignment. This is a senior role within the transactional finance team, ideal for someone experienced in high-volume processing who can take ownership of day-to-day ledger activity. Hybrid working is available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing scheduled payments to external partners with a high level of accuracy.
- Managing a busy shared finance mailbox, triaging queries and ensuring timely responses.
- Handling expense claims, ensuring correct authorisation and compliance with internal policies.
- High-volume Accounts Payable duties including invoice processing, coding, authorisation workflow and payment preparation.
- Performing supplier statement reconciliations and resolving supplier queries.
- Raising monthly sales invoices to external clients and correcting any billing errors.
- Liaising with stakeholders to ensure all required information (references, approvals, documentation) is in place to support timely payments.
- Providing wider transactional and administrative support to the Finance team as required.
About You:
- Strong background in transactional finance (AP/AR), ideally in a high-volume environment.
- Experience managing a busy shared mailbox and prioritising queries effectively.
- Confident processing large volumes of purchase invoices.
- Experience with self-billing, reconciliations or petty cash is beneficial.
- Well organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
- Clear communicator who can work well both independently and within a team.
- Sage and strong MS Excel skills desirable.
