Finance Assistant - Syston - £28,000 - £32,000 - Hybrid (Min. 4 Days Office-Based) - Permanent

Macildowie are working with this client based in Syston, Leicestershire to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join a collaborative and fast-paced finance team.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering varied exposure across billing, accounts payable, reconciliations and systems support. The role is well suited to someone who's already confident in transactional finance and looking to take the next step toward broader responsibility - potentially developing toward finance operations or management accounting.

Working closely with the Divisional Financial Controller, you'll be responsible for:

  • Preparing and validating monthly billing files

  • Managing supplier invoices and the full P2P process

  • Handling weekly payment runs and supplier reconciliations

  • Completing daily bank reconciliations and resolving unmatched items

  • Supporting petty cash processes and internal reporting

  • Assisting with month-end close and data accuracy across systems

You'll also contribute to process improvements and play a key part in maintaining financial controls, working across multiple systems and liaising with operational teams.

What We're Looking Fo

  • AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience across billing, AP, reconciliations or month-end support

  • Confident working with Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data matching)

  • Comfortable navigating finance systems and cross-functional data

  • Proactive and organised, with a keen eye for detail

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with non-finance teams

The Offer:

  • £28,000 - £32,000 per annum

  • 37.5 hours per week

  • Based in Syston, with hybrid working (minimum 4 days per week in-office)

  • Permanent contract with scope for development
