Financial Analyst

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000
Location: Langar (Hybrid working)

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK operation that forms part of a wider international group. The organisation operates in a commercially focused, regulated environment and supports sales and operational teams across the UK and Ireland. With robust governance, strong internal controls, and close links to overseas finance teams, the business offers a stable yet varied finance setting with exposure to global processes and stakeholders.

The Role

This is a broad Financial Analyst position within a small, collaborative finance team. The role has a strong emphasis on month-end delivery, financial control, and stakeholder support. You will take ownership of key reporting areas, ensure compliance with internal and external requirements, and act as the primary local finance contact for shared service functions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Close & Forecasting

  • Deliver month-end actuals and forecasts, including review of general ledger activity and overhead spend
  • Prepare and post accruals, intercompany charges, and period-end adjustments
  • Manage the timely close of accounting periods and submission of financial data into the group reporting system
  • Produce overhead forecasts, ensuring data accuracy, validation, and consolidation
  • Act as the main liaison for overseas finance teams on submission queries
  • Produce specific cost reporting for areas such as IT and legal expenditure

Reconciliations & Controls

  • Complete balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Maintain strong financial control and documentation standards

Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare and circulate overhead cost reports to management, highlighting variances and trends

  • Produce profitability analysis by product for the UK and Ireland markets and attend review meetings with stakeholders

Governance & Compliance

  • Own local compliance under internal control frameworks, including quarterly control reviews and certifications
  • Monitor internal policy updates and assess required actions in conjunction with senior finance leadership
  • Support statutory and regulatory reporting obligations, including HMRC-related submissions

Budgeting & Cost Management

  • Lead the preparation of annual overhead budgets
  • Conduct quarterly spend reviews with budget holders to support cost control and forecasting accuracy

Capital & Lease Accounting

  • Carry out annual fixed asset impairment reviews
  • Process monthly lease accounting entries, including vehicle leases
  • Monitor lease commencements and terminations, working with overseas teams and payroll to ensure accurate benefit reporting

Indirect Tax & Environmental Reporting

  • Prepare and submit UK and Ireland VAT returns, including use of online tax portals and coordination with external advisors
  • Compile and submit environmental compliance data in partnership with external schemes

Shared Services Interface

  • Act as the key local finance contact for shared service teams, including accounts payable, intercompany accounting, and expenses
  • Resolve local finance queries efficiently and ensure smooth collaboration between teams

About You

Qualifications

  • AAT qualified or studying towards / holding a CIMA Certificate (or equivalent)

Experience

  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, accounting principles, and month-end processes
  • Experience using ERP systems (SAP experience desirable)
