Job Description

Office & Finance Manager (Maternity cover, fixed term, approx. 10 months)

The contract will start October 2026 (mid) and end August 2027 (early-mid)

My client a well-established bespoke joinery manufacturer based in Nottingham.  is recruiting organised and experienced Office & Finance Manager to join their team on a maternity cover contract. This is a varied role offering plenty of responsibility, where you'll play a key part in supporting the day-to-day running of the business

Key Responsibilities:
Accounts / Bookkeeping / Finance

  • Sole bookkeeper for company
  • Banking reconciliation
  • Credit card reconciliation
  • Managing DLA
  • Purchase Ledger invoices
  • Sales Ledger invoices
  • Debt chasing
  • Payment run
  • Employee expenses
  • Reports on sales, cash flow, project profits, etc.
  • Assets & depreciation

Payroll

  • Process workshop paper timesheets weekly
  • Keep track of overtime for office
  • Sage 50 Accounts journal
  • Assist with any employee queries

Sales / Project Support

  • Arrange meetings for Director
  • Support for costing, checking supplier costs, etc.
  • Quotations
  • Chasing quotations
  • Customer queries
  • Keep up to date with cost variations
  • Book hotels, trains, etc.

HR

  • Starter/HR paperwork
  • Manage holiday
  • Log absences/lateness
  • Take notes during meetings
  • Keep HR notes up to date
  • Help with recruitment

Health & Safety

  • Administration, chasing of paperwork, etc.
  • Assist with e-learning
  • Book servicing, training, etc

General

  • Office purchases e.g. stationary
  • Assist Director as requested
  • Arrange MOT’s & servicing for company vehicles
  • Assist with insurance renewals

Essential Experience:

  • Previous bookkeeping experience
  • Sage 50 Accounts
  • Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good communication skills
Benefits include:
  • Pay: Competitive, dependant on experience, monthly, last Friday of every month
  • Days: Monday to Friday, would consider 4 or 5 days
  • Hours: 8am to 4pm, half an hour lunch break
  • Office based
  • Free Parking 
  • Holidays -  20 days plus 8 bank holidays full allowance January-December, this will be pro rata depending on exact dates of contract & if 4 or 5 days
  • Pension: After 3 months
  • Dress Code: Casual
