Macildowie are delighted to be working in partnership with our client in Braintree to recruit a Branch Manager. This is a key leadership role within a high-performing organisation, offering a competitive salary and the opportunity to drive real impact across commercial, operational and people performance.

Role Overview

As Branch Manager, you'll take full ownership of the branch's operations - leading sales, logistics, warehousing and customer service functions. You'll be responsible for driving growth, efficiency and excellence while fostering a positive, high-performance culture. Collaborating closely with Head Office and other branches, you'll ensure consistent standards and best practices across the network.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency across sales, warehousing, logistics and customer service.
  • Deliver commercial growth through proactive account management, business development and sales initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with Head Office teams (Purchasing, Production, Logistics, HR, Finance) to support smooth, aligned operations.
  • Share best practice and maintain consistency across branches.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships to maximise retention and revenue.
  • Monitor sales and operational KPIs, analyse performance data and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive operational excellence by maintaining process accuracy, service quality and cost efficiency.
  • Lead, motivate and develop branch employees to achieve both individual and team objectives.
  • Champion Customer Service Excellence initiatives to enhance client satisfaction and engagement.
  • Identify local market opportunities and provide insight to support wider business strategy.
  • Ensure robust stock management, working closely with central logistics teams.
  • Hold regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates and results.
  • Represent the branch in cross-site collaborations and continuous improvement projects.
  • Conduct appraisals and implement personal performance plans (PPPs) to support development.
  • Maintain compliance with all QHSE policies and uphold a safe, efficient working environment.
  • Manage obsolete stock, uphold company policies and hold the team accountable for performance aligned to company values.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in leading branch or multi-department operations within a commercial or logistics setting.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills, with a proactive and positive approach.
  • Excellent communication skills - able to inspire, engage and align teams.
  • A natural problem solver, adaptable and focused on continuous improvement.
  • Confident in providing and receiving feedback, fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset and commercial acumen.
  • A motivating leader who balances short-term performance with long-term strategic goals.

If you're a results-driven leader with strong commercial insight and a track record of delivering operational excellence, this is an outstanding opportunity to make your mark and contribute to the continued success and growth of a leading business.
