Macildowie are partnering with a well‑established business in the energy sector seeking a Business Development Manager.
Role overview
In this role you will join an experienced, growth‑oriented company with over 20 years at the forefront of the renewables industry. You will be responsible for driving growth, working alongside the Managing Director to build and scale the business. The business has in‑house design and project delivery teams, plus a growing maintenance and servicing operation. Your remit will include identifying opportunities, developing relationships with clients, suppliers and partners, and managing the full sales cycle through to hand‑over to project delivery.
Key responsibilities
Identify, qualify and secure commercial solar opportunities in the UK market
Build and nurture long‑term relationships with customers, suppliers, funding partners and other key stakeholders
Develop sales strategy for the business alongside the MD; drive entrepreneurial growth and define new routes‑to‑market
Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification, scoping, funding/funding routes, negotiation, through to handover to project delivery and servicing teams
About you
Proven commercial solar sales professional with experience in the UK market: you understand technologies, funding routes and key market players
Demonstrable track record of personally delivering sales, while also building long term relationships and strategic partnerships
Ambitious, looking for a role where you can make a real impact and build a rewarding career rather than just ticking a sales quota box
Entrepreneurial mindset: you can identify, scope and deliver profitable opportunities within target markets and also propose new potential areas for growth
