Business Development Executive
Job Description
Macildowie are working with a growth-oriented client based in Nottingham to recruit an ambition-driven Business Development Executive who is looking to take the next step in their sales career. This is a full-time, permanent position offering a clear route to a fully-fledged Business Development Manager role within 12 months (£35,000 basic salary).
Working in the financial services sector, this role is ideal for a budding sales professional with around 12 months of sales or customer engagement experience who is motivated to build a long-term career in a fast-paced, rewarding environment.
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 basic
Bonus: £10,000 - £15,000 OTE
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (1 day WFH per week, with flexibility)
Hours: 8:30am - 5pm or 9am - 5:30pm (flexibility available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Build strong relationships with a network of financial advisers across your patch
- Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Carry out telephone-based prospecting to open new accounts and increase fundraising
- Follow up on marketing leads and attend industry events
- Schedule meetings for Senior BDMs (phone/Zoom/face-to-face)
- Deliver exceptional customer service and maintain CRM records (Salesforce)
- Use performance data to drive sales activity and meet quarterly/annual targets
- Stay up to date with relevant market regulations and products
Development & Progression:
- Full engagement with training and onboarding programme
- Personal Development Plan with support from your manager
- Opportunity to complete a professional qualification in your first 12-24 months
- Long-term progression in the financial services sector
- Uncapped bonuses/commission as you progress into a Business Development Manager role
Ideal Candidate:
- Sales or customer service experience (around 12 months ideal) - any sales or customer-centric background will be considered
- A strong communicator with natural people skills
- Self-motivated and target-driven
- Entrepreneurial mindset and desire to progress
- Comfortable presenting and communicating in a professional environment
- GCSEs A-C (or equivalent) in English & Maths
- PLEASE NOTE: You must have the right to work permanently in the U.K. in order to progress to the next stage, as our client is unable to provide a UK working VISA for the position.
