Location: Derby

Salary: Up to £30,000 (depending on experience)

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

My client is looking for a proactive and organised Administrator to join our busy logistics operation in Derby. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and can keep multiple tasks moving smoothly. You'll play a key part in supporting daily transport operations, processing customer orders, and ensuring any discrepancies or refund claims are handled efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with daily transport planning, including scheduling deliveries and coordinating with drivers
  • Monitor delivery progress and update internal systems accordingly
  • Liaise with customers, drivers, and internal teams to resolve delivery issues
  • Process incoming orders accurately and within agreed timeframes
  • Maintain up‑to‑date records across internal systems
  • Ensure all documentation is completed and filed correctly
  • Investigate delivery discrepancies, shortages, or damages
  • Handle refund and credit requests in line with company procedures
  • Communicate outcomes clearly to customers and internal teams
  • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support to the logistics and transport teams
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and documentation as required
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the department

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in logistics, transport, or a similar administrative role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build good working relationships
  • Comfortable working with transport management systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
