We are supporting a growing FMCG business based in Blaby with the recruitment of an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-paced, high-volume finance environment where attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential.
Salary: £26,000 - £32,000 per annum
Employment Type: Permanent
Working Arrangement: Office-based, with flexibility available after probation
As Accounts Payable Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, reconciliation of statements, and the smooth running of payment operations. Key Responsibilities:
Process a high volume of purchase invoices, ensuring correct coding, matching, and approval
Maintain supplier accounts and ensure invoices are processed in line with agreed payment terms
Carry out supplier statement reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
Prepare and support weekly and monthly payment runs, including BACS uploads
Monitor and manage the accounts payable inbox, dealing with queries professionally
Set up new suppliers and maintain up-to-date account records
Liaise with purchasing and operational teams to ensure invoice/PO accuracy
Assist with month-end reporting, including aged creditors and accruals
What we're looking for:
Prior experience in an Accounts Payable or Purchase Ledger role
High accuracy and excellent attention to detail
Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with finance systems (SAP, Sage, or similar)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
FMCG or multi-site business experience is desirable but not essential
