A well-established business is seeking an Interim Financial Controller to provide stability, leadership and reliable financial oversight during a key period. This role requires someone who can immediately take ownership of reporting, controls and team management while ensuring the Finance function operates efficiently.
What you'll do
- Lead the production of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning
- Maintain robust financial controls and ensure balance sheet integrity
- Manage audit activity, acting as the main contact for internal and external auditors
- Deliver statutory reporting requirements and support year-end processes
- Oversee tax compliance, including VAT reviews and liaison on corporation tax matters
- Drive improvements across financial processes, systems and reporting
- Lead, develop and support the Finance team, ensuring workloads and priorities are well managed
- Oversee payroll and general financial operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day running
- Provide commercial insight and analysis to support decision-making
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory and financial standards
What you'll need
- CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualified or demonstrably qualified by experience
- Proven experience operating at Financial Controller level
- Manufacturing experience is essential
- Strong background in producing financial reports and managing audits
- Experience maintaining financial controls and balance sheet discipline
- Demonstrable team leadership and development experience
- A commercial and analytical approach, with the ability to influence key stakeholders
- Confident decision-maker with strong organisation and problem-solving skills
