Management Accountant - £50,000 + £3,000 Car Allowance - Nottingham
I am working with a leading technology solutions provider, based in Nottingham, that is looking for an experienced Senior Management Accountant / Junior Financial Controller. The role offers a competitive salary of £50,000, along with a £3,000 car allowance (fuel and expenses included).
About the Role:
In this role, you will take ownership of monthly management accounts, lead budgeting and forecasting, and ensure the accuracy of financial reporting. You will also manage a team of four finance staff, working closely with senior management and non-financial stakeholders to provide clear financial insights and drive process improvements across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management Accounts: Prepare and deliver monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and meeting deadlines.
- Financial Accuracy: Oversee the integrity of the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow forecasts, resolving discrepancies and variances.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and monthly forecasting, offering analysis and recommendations for financial planning.
- Business Partnering: Work with non-financial departments to translate financial data into actionable insights and inform business decisions.
- Team Management: Manage a team of four finance professionals, providing guidance and ensuring effective performance.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency within the finance function.
- Financial Reporting: Support the alignment of group financial reporting and ensure consistency across departments.
- Audit Support: Assist with the external statutory audit process, ensuring compliance and accuracy in financial statements.
- Ad-Hoc Projects: Support senior management with financial analysis for ad-hoc projects and strategic initiatives.
Ideal Candidate:
- CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or equivalent).
- Significant experience in a Senior Management Accountant role or similar.
- Proven leadership skills with experience managing a small finance team.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with ERP/accounting systems.
- Full UK driving licence preferred due to cross-site travel.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
