Management Accountant
Job Description
Macildowie are working with a well-established organisation based in Northampton to recruit a Management Accountant into a key role within their finance team. This position offers excellent exposure to senior stakeholders and the opportunity to develop strong commercial and business-facing skills.
This is a great role for a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant who enjoys producing high-quality management information and wants to play an active role in supporting business performance. You'll work closely with operational teams, providing accurate reporting, insight, and analysis to support decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, including commentary and variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Produce detailed financial analysis to support performance reviews
- Assist with cost control, margin analysis, and profitability reporting
- Support business partnering with non-finance stakeholders
- Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and ensure data accuracy
- Contribute to continuous improvement of financial processes and reporting
- Support audit and statutory reporting as required
Experience
- Part-qualified or qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Confident communicator with the ability to explain financial information clearly
- Proactive, organised, and keen to develop commercially
- Strong Excel skills; systems/ERP experience advantageous
