Position Overview

  • Job Title: Purchase Ledger Clerk
  • Location: Leicester - Meridian Business Park (LE19)
  • Salary: £25,000 - £28,000, depending on experience
  • Type: Permanent, full-time
  • Hours: 8.30am - 5.00pm, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week)
  • Working Arrangement: Fully office-based

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Process supplier invoices daily and ensure accurate coding and posting
  • Carry out regular supplier statement reconciliations across all group entities
  • Manage the central purchase ledger inbox and respond to supplier queries promptly
  • Work closely with internal service and project teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Handle supplier calls in a professional and confident manner
  • Support the Finance Manager and the wider team with any ledger improvements or changes
  • Be ready to contribute ideas as the business scales and processes evolve

What We're Looking For

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in purchase ledger or accounts payable
  • Someone who is proactive, confident and able to manage a varied workload with minimal supervision
  • Comfortable working across multiple business entities
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills
  • Xero and/or Simpro experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude and a desire to work in a lively, fast-moving environment
