Financial Accountant
Job Description
Financial Accountant
Location: Castle Donnington
Contract: Permanent
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional with a strong background in transactional finance or treasury who is looking to step into a Financial Accountant position within a fast-paced, international FMCG business.
The role sits at the core of the finance function, with responsibility for financial control, treasury and foreign exchange activities, statutory compliance, and month-end reporting across a complex, multi-entity structure. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and group functions, providing accurate financial insight that supports operational and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Treasury and cash management: Ownership of cash flow forecasting, variance analysis, payments, cash pooling arrangements, and regular liaison with group treasury.
Foreign exchange management: Monthly FX deal settlement with banks, reporting and analysis of FX results, hedging outlook, and revaluation of foreign currency balances
Financial close and reporting: Delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions, balance sheet integrity, revaluations, and group reporting.
Balance sheet control and forecasting support: Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, journal postings, and contribution to budgeting, forecasting, and statutory or national statistics submissions.
Business and team support: Providing cover for critical treasury activities and contributing to, or leading, finance-related projects as required.
About You
This role is ideally suited to someone currently working in a transactional finance, treasury, or cash management role within a medium to large organisation, who is now looking to broaden their responsibilities into a full Financial Accountant position.
You will bring:
Strong experience in cash flow management, AR/AP, and treasury-related activities.
Exposure to multi-currency environments and foreign exchange processes.
Experience supporting budgets and forecasts within a complex, fast-moving business.
Background in a medium to large organisation, ideally within FMCG or a similarly operationally intensive sector.
A professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or finalist level.
You will be detail-driven, commercially aware, and comfortable operating in a dynamic environment where accuracy, control, and continuous improvement are essential.
If you are looking to take the next step from transactional finance or treasury into a technically strong, high-impact Financial Accountant role, this opportunity offers the scope, complexity, and exposure to support that progression.
